October & Inktober

'ello!

Last month, in addition to my daily doodles on my calender, I did the Inktober challenge. Which is basically to do an ink drawing every day for the month of October. It was fun but definitely a challenge! Next year, I think I will go the every-other-day half-marathon route.

I did them all on 2 fold-out pages. This is what I had by the end of the month:

A few of my favourites:

If you would like a closer look at the rest, they are on my facebook page

And then my October all filled out:

So yeah- definitely a LOT of doodling was done this Oct! :)

Aug & Sept Calendars and Daily Doodles

In August I started doing a lot of little doodles along with the journaling for each day.  Most of them are a simplified version of my Morbid Little Girl character. I'm having a lot of fun with it. :)

Since my September calendar was all sweet & dreamy (it's my anniversary month) Morbid Little Girl got a pink-haired makeover so she'd fit in better. ;)

Finished Journal: Do I Dare Disturb the Universe?

This is two journals back from my current one (I know, I"m behind!! lol) covering Summer thru Christmas last year.   The title I finally settled on (right before I finished it!) was "Do I Dare Disturb the Universe?" (a T.S. Elliot quote).

It is my favourite journal cover ever. :)

The back cover blurb:

This is the first journal that I started making a lot of photo pages. But most of my favourite pages are still the ones with drawings... Here are some of them:

The little blue girl on the left side of this page is one of my favourites done by Jessica von Braun

A cheeky page... lol

Some doodles.  My crafty friend Anne sent me this lovely little book that I incorporated into my bigger journal. :)

I made a crappy little flip-thru video if you wanna see the rest of it :)

Bad Blogger

I have not posted in ages. Sorry 'bout that. I have had a rough few months.  I am going to try to start posting at least once or twice a month. That is my resolution for this year (I'm a teacher- so my years start in August lol)

I have lots to share:
*TWO completed journals to flip thru
*MONTHS of calendars
*TONS of doodles :)

Catch Up: Nov. thru Jan

Bonjour! :)

You'd never know it from my blog, but I HAVE been keeping up with my calendars.

Here is November all finished. This was the month I started spending more time on the writing in the date squares. I had fun experimenting with different lettering & it makes the finished calendar look more.... hmm.. polished? I don't know, but I like it. :)

I evidently forgot to take a photo of my December calendar before I started filling it out. But here it is at the end of the month.

Notice how Sally's side is a mix of different colours like her dress, while Jack's is black & white & green. :)

And I have already started filling up my January, which is the first calendar in my new journal!

Oh you're wondering about the empty space between the rows?
It's because I am combining my calendar page page for this month with my photo pages.

In this journal, I started doing photo pages which usually span 1-2 weeks & they look like this:

I wanted to try to combine my calendar with my photo pages for awhile, but the pages in this journal weren't big enough.

Since my new journal is 8x12 I thought I'd try it out. :)

Making Christmas, Making Christmas!

Hello there!

So, once upon a time, for many years when I was younger, I made a whole bunch of handmade Christmas cards for all my friends. I can't quite remember the last year I did this, but I would guess it was around 10 years ago.

Well this year I decided to revive that tradition.

OH MY GOODNESS was it a lot of work!!! o.O I started 'em the first week of December & was still working on the last few right up until Christmas.

I'm glad I did it but it really was exhausting! lol

So here are some of the cards I made. I apologize if some of the photos are extra blurry- sometimes I barely finished them before I had to seal 'em up & run to the post office.

I had to make these long, skinny cards to fit the letter sized envelopes I had left after I ran out of card envelopes.  I actually like them a lot & think I will use the same shape again. :)

Some non-traditional cards:

That is only about half of the paper cards I made!

I also made some digital cards:

And a few hybrid cards (hand drawn elements incorporated into digital cards)

What do you think?
